Description

Sälstationen, a historical top secret place offers accommodation and activities. A unique meeting place and cozy environment for relaxing with the sea at your front door. In the middle of the Gålö nature reserve and Stockholm archipelago.

During the Second World War, about 20 seals were trained to help the Navy to track out foreign submarines and mines. This site was chosen, as it was secluded while easily accessible. Valdemar Fellenius, moved in with his family, a number of cons. In total, eight to eleven people who worked in total secrecy during 4 years

Sleep over in one of our lodge, take some time to meet with others in the common areas, ”mässen”- our dining and kitchen area, and the inviting deck surounding the historical pool for the seals.

In the building "Mässen" you'll find a fully equipped kitchen and a dining room for 12 persons.
Fellenius, Palmen and Säl-Pelles lodges are three comfortable lodges with room for 2 to 4 people.
Mysingen, the service building offers sauna, shower and restroom.
At the pier and around the station we have created spaces that invite you to reflection and recovery: hammocks, cozy corners.
Take a dip in the seawater pool or swim from the beach.
There is a rowboat for rent, and Stand Up Paddle to lend.

Palmen lodge from 1040 Sek/ night, 18m2+ access to Mässen and Mysingen.
You can also enjoy our package with lodge + evenings meal + breakfast + sheets and towel. Meals and ingredients.
We’ll be teaming for the success of your dinner. We have selected the ingredients and recipes and we hope you will enjoy to prepare it ( main course and a dessert ).
You can cook indoors in the kitchen or outdoors around the fire place. You’ll choose which alternativ / food basket you want. Breakfast basket includes porridge, cheese, bread, butter and jam. The food is vegetarian for a positive contribution to climate challenges. We primarily choose local and organic raw materials. We cooperate with local producers from Gålö, Haninge, Västerhaninge or Värmdö to offer cheese, eggs, vegetables, bread, rapeseed oil, apple juice, jam.

Road Description

By train: From Stockholm city, take a commuter train to Västerhaninge station (32min). From there, the bus N 845 to Västra Bondäng. You get off at Dyvik stop (22mn).
By car: From Stockholm center, take Nynäsvägen / road 73, heading south. Take the exit at ”Jordbro trafikplats” and follow the road 227 towards Dalarö. After 9km, turn right on road 259 towards Gålö. Continue on Oxnövägen. After 6km turn left at the sign ”Sälstationen”. We offer free parking.
Once on place you will find large signs that tell you about the Sälstation. Follow the small signs for 300m, first on a gravel road and then on a hilly wide path in the woods leading to the station.
In the parking lot you can borrow a push cart to carry your bags.
